On the 23rd of last October, the Prof. Howard Gardner via easymeeting™ was connected from Vancouver (Canada) with the Triennale di Milano which hosted the third edition of the forum Art for Business.
The high quality of our audio-video system surprised the Professor himself, who - at the end of the meeting - thanked our staff with these words: the highest tech broadcast I’ve ever seen.
Howard Gardner is a professor at Harvard University in Massachusetts and has gained fame in the scientific community due to his well-known theory of multiple intelligences. His proposal is to consider unfounded the old conception of intelligence as an unitary factor measured by intelligence quotient (IQ) and replace it with a more dynamic conception articulated in different sub factors.
It is currently considered one of the most important exponents of the so-called theory of the intelligence factor as opposed to the global one. He is also known for having written a number of important texts in educational psychology and for having produced the most important classic story of the birth of cognitive science, The Mind's New Science (1983). For his research he has received many awards and honorary degrees.
Art For Business has been committed to recognize the contribution that arts can offer to organizations since 2007, particularly related to the impact that languages has on people offering new ideas and methods for continuous learning.
The association nowadays represents a point of reference in Italy for the development and testing of Art Based Learningmethodologies: training activities which use the artistic practice to face specific organizational issues.
These activities can also count on the matured reflections thanks to the positions held in the academic community and through studies conducted by the same research laboratory of the association.
The AFB's commitment is to communicate well with the organization but also with its stakeholders, through the creation and organization of events that emphasize the role of arts as a growth opportunity for people.
