The Museum of the Cinema in Turin, as part of Wi-school, arranged the first easymeeting™ connection with the fifth grade class of elementary school of the Serra Institute in Crescentino (VC).

The project, born from a triennial convention among the Piedmont Region, the National Museum of the Cinema and the Politecnico of Turin, aims to promote in the Piedmont Schools the history of Photography, the archaeology of the Cinema and the Cinema itself. Through this project, schools have the opportunity to use the Museum’s historical and cultural heritage through "virtual" tours and to benefit from its collections to support their teaching activities: Feedback Italia provided its interactive video communication software for this special learning opportunity.

Through easymeeting™, the operator could interact by remote access with the students and the teacher, providing and sharing images and videos of the Museum’s collections, educational tools, applications designed ad hoc (such as virtual interactive games and 3D models of the objects) and questionnaires. The class had the opportunity to interact with the operator, to visit the exhibition halls of the museum through virtual tours and to experience the different devices by virtual simulating through screen sharing. For this reason the virtual conference has been set up deputing the connection especially to the remote sharing activities: to increase the maximum visual quality and the interactivity between students and the operator of the Museum of the Cinema.

The meeting was made possible thanks to the collaboration of the consortium TOP-IX (TOrino Piemonte Internet eXchange) and with the support of Zenit Arti Audiovisive.

Among others, those present for the Museum of the Cinema were Mr. Paolo Traversi (Head of Educational Projects), Mrs. Roberta Zendrini (Teaching); Mrs. Francesca Portalupi (Teaching); Mrs. Emanuela Renos (Regione Piemonte) and Prof. Daniele Trinchero from the Politecnico of Turin.
