Feedback Italia: videoconference with Niky Frascisco
At the Cavour barracks of the Guardia di Finanza in Gaeta (LT) the videoconference was held with Niky Frascisco, the child with a rare respiratory disease that only allows him to live next to iodine present in sea salt.
In collaboration with the Guardia di Finanza, Telecom Italia and Feedback Italia, Niky has organized, along with his parents Paola and Paolo, a series of video conferences addressing important social and environmental issues.
The meeting hall of the Guardia di Finanza was full due to the participation of many classes of the Nautical Institute Giovanni Caboto, the Scientific High School Enrico Fermi in Gaeta and the Francesco Severi Institute in Salerno where Niky is enrolled for the first year of his studies.
The students were able to talk to Nicky, who is now 14 years old, in direct satellite connection from his home, the Walkirye: a oceanic small schooner of 26 meters - super technology and self-contained moored in the seaport of Vibo Valentia. Furthermore, they were able to address some questions to the researchers of the Italian base Mario Zucchelli in Antarctica.
The meeting was a great success and Niky has given the next appointment for February 26th 2011.
