Dell Technologies Hit by Two Data Breaches in a Week, Exposing 3.5GB of Employee Data
Dell Technologies has allegedly experienced two data breaches within a week, resulting in the exposure of over 3.5GB of sensitive data belonging to at least 10,000 employees.
The hacker, known as “grep,” initially claimed responsibility for a smaller breach easrlier this month, which affected over 10,800 employees. Later, “grep” announced a second, more significant breach, involving 3.5GB of stolen data, including employee IDs, internal identifiers, and other sensitive information. The breach reportedly stemmed from compromised Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence.
Despite the breaches, Dell has yet to release an official public statement, although they have acknowledged the first breach and are investigating it. This incident highlights the growing security risks for large tech firms and the potential for phishing and social engineering attacks.
